Bidders or their Agents are responsible for ensuring they received all their items. No claims of any kind shall be allowed after the item has been removed by the Buyer or item has been signed for after time of removal. Buyers in default authorize West Auctions to charge a 15% re-listing fee to their credit card based upon their total invoice high bid amount. The re-listing fee cannot be applied to individual items. There are no refunds or exchanges. Employees are unable to assist with physical loading. 2013 Backstage Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum (1.5L)

TASTING NOTES

With impressive notes of smoky cassis, pipe tobacco, cedar, vanilla bean, resin, and saddle leather, this Napa Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with meats and roasted vegetables. On the palate, a chorus of stewed black fruits, sweet spice, vanilla, and oak. The result of deep, rich, intense flavors and moderate tannins make this wine very complex. The French oak generates silky tannins and notes of spices, toasted nuts, coffee, and leather.

WINEGROWING NOTES

We use the double cordon method of vine training with wide spacing so that our vines can access more nutrients from the soil. We do not want our berries touching each other from other bunches - very important to reduce rot or undesired flavors. We average less than 3 tons of fruit per acre - so that we can create the richest fruit for our wines. We thin the vines 2-3 times each year to reduce our crop to the optimal amount for bunch spacing and fruit per vine ratio. This Cabernet Sauvignon was aged 24 months in French oak barrels. We use French (Quercus Petraea) Oak barrels for our aging because it is the finest oak - has a tighter grain, causing the transfer of flavors slower. We age our wines three years in oak barrels and do not want to have an over-oaked flavor.
