Heavy Machinery for Site Prep and Road Work

Dozers and motor graders are the backbone of site preparation and infrastructure projects. West Auctions connects contractors with the heavy iron needed to move dirt efficiently. Our inventory often comes from retiring excavation companies, municipal surplus, and rental fleet turnovers, offering buyers access to well-maintained machines from brands like Cat, Komatsu, and Case.

We understand that buying heavy machinery is a major investment. That’s why our listings include photos of critical components like the final drives, hydraulic cylinders, and articulation joints. Whether you need a D6 for land clearing or a 140H for finish grading, our platform provides a transparent and competitive marketplace for acquiring professional-grade earthmoving equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I evaluate undercarriage wear?
We provide detailed photos of the tracks, sprockets, idlers, and rollers. We recommend inspecting the machine in person to measure remaining track life, as undercarriage replacement is a significant cost.
Are the rippers included with the dozer?
If the machine is photographed with a ripper attached, it is generally included. Occasionally, multi-shank rippers or winches are sold as separate lots, so please read the lot description carefully.
Can I test the transmission and steering?
During inspection days, you can typically start the machine and test basic steering and blade functions. However, extensive test drives or moving the machine long distances may be restricted for safety.
How do I transport a motor grader?
Graders are long and often require special lowboy trailers and permits for transport. West Auctions does not arrange shipping, so you must hire a heavy haul transport service.
Do you sell GPS grade control systems?
If a machine has GPS hardware installed, we will note it. However, the external base stations, rovers, and software licenses are often retained by the seller or sold separately. Assume the system may be incomplete unless stated otherwise.
Is the blade edge worn?
Cutting edges are wear items. We photograph the blade so you can see if the cutting edge needs to be turned or replaced. This is a common maintenance item for used graders and dozers.
