West Auctions ("West Auctions," "we," "us") explains in this Privacy Policy how we collect, use, and share information when you use the West Auctions Mobile app (the "App") on Android or iOS.

This policy applies to the App. Our website and online auction platform may have separate practices.

1) Information We Collect

A. Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, and optional phone number, plus any profile details you choose to provide.
• Content you create or upload: item photos, lot descriptions, notes, and other content you enter in the App.
• Auction and operational data: information related to lots, invoices, appointments, removals, and other auction-management activity you perform in the App.

B. Information collected automatically

• Device and app information: device identifiers, operating system, and app version.
• App activity data: how you use the App (for example, screens or features used) to help us improve functionality.
• Crash and diagnostic data: error logs, crash reports, and performance data collected via Sentry.

C. Information from service providers

• Authentication data: We use Clerk to sign you in. We receive identifiers and basic account details (such as user ID, name, and email) needed to authenticate you and manage access.

2) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate the App and related auction-management services
• Create and manage accounts, and authenticate users
• Store and display auction data and content (lots, invoices, appointments, photos, etc.)
• Enable App features such as photo capture, offline functionality/sync, and notifications (if enabled)
• Monitor reliability, troubleshoot, and improve performance and security
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights and policies

3) How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these cases:

A. Service providers

We use vendors to help run the App, such as:

• Clerk (authentication) – Privacy Policy
• Sentry (crash reporting and performance monitoring) – Privacy Policy
• Supabase (database and backend services) – Privacy Policy
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) (file and photo storage) – Privacy Policy

These providers may process information on our behalf only to provide services to us and under appropriate protections.

B. Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with law, regulation, legal process, or a government request
• Protect the rights, property, and safety of West Auctions, our users, or others
• Prevent fraud or address security issues

C. Business transactions

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4) Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards (such as encryption in transit, secure authentication, and access controls). No system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

5) Data Retention

We retain information as long as needed to operate the App and provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Crash/diagnostic data collected through Sentry is retained according to Sentry's settings and retention policies.

6) Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request data portability where applicable

You can update some information in the App. You may request access or deletion by contacting us (see "Contact Us").

Crash reporting: The App uses crash/diagnostic tools to keep the App reliable. If you do not want this data collected, you may need to stop using the App.

7) Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

8) International Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws. We take steps to apply appropriate protections when transferring data.

9) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
