  • (1 Case/12 Bottles) 2023 Napa Merlot 750 ml
Online Auction of Sapphire Russian River Wine, Zambelli Plate Filter, and Retired 59-Gallon Barrels|
Lot # 0200

(1 Case/12 Bottles) 2023 Napa Merlot 750 ml

(1 Case/12 Bottles) 2023 Napa Merlot 750 ml

  • Appellation: Napa Valley
  • Alcohol Level: 13.9%
  • Barrel Aging: Aged 8 months in French oak barrels
  • MSRP: $60

Tasting Notes:
The 2023 Napa Merlot shows a deep garnet color with expressive aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry. Hints of cocoa, dried herbs, and soft vanilla add warmth and complexity. The palate is supple and refined, balancing plush fruit with polished tannins and a long, seamless finish.

Winegrowing Notes:
The cooler Napa Valley microclimate is ideal for Merlot, offering warm days moderated by bay breezes and cool evenings. The 2023 vintage ripened slowly, developing concentrated fruit character and natural elegance. Gentle extraction during fermentation brought forward smooth tannins and rich color before the wine matured in oak for added depth and harmony.
